UNITED NATION INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY  2022 - A ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION ON THE ROLE OF YOUTH TO NATION BUILDING – 12TH AUGUST, 2022.

In commemoration of the 2022 United Nation International Youth Day, SHE4SHE INITIATIVE presents a round table discussion on the “THE ROLE OF YOUTHS IN NATION BUILDING”, held at the She4she Initiative training center Platinum Mega Mall, Jahi Abuja to consolidate on theme: Intergenerational Solidarity Creating a World for all Ages.

The event featured young entrepreneurs who shared their experiences and taught immensely on the role of youth in nation building. The key speaker, Mr.  Odeh Peter Bobby – a facilitator, President, Nigerian Youth Entertainment Forum and also the General Manager Santiago Resort Utako, spoke extensively on youth impact in the society, challenges youth face and how youth can influence the society.

Mr. Odeh stressed the need for youth to be an asset to the nation rather than

Consumers. He also encouraged the participants to be actively involved in decision

making process of the nation as regard to leadership, economy, social life etc.

 

The second speaker, Mr. Mevon Samuel Junior, CEO of Mygore Investment and Distinguished Ambassador for Human Rights Affairs, spoke on the value of mentoring as a means to success. Additionally, he discusses the advantages of intergenerational solidarity. According to him, "youth need to be the bridge between the older and the younger generation" and they should work hard, show devotion, and follow the older generation with patience in order to get their recommendations when necessary and benefit from their wealth of knowledge.

Conclusively, the event features an interactive session which gave the participants opportunity to air their opinions as regarding nation building. Participants were drawn from across six geo-political zones of Nigeria. We had 20 persons in attendance.

MEDICAL OUTREACH AT MODEL PRIMARY HEALTH CENTRE, RUMUODUMAYA- 22nd July, 2022

The purpose of the event was to reach out to nursing mothers in the Obio Akpor LG axis of Portharcourt, River state, following the main goal of the NGO (women empowering women).

The event started by 9am with an opening prayer by one of the nursing mothers I(Mrs Joy Uchechuku). Then we had the She4She talk, enlightening the women on what we’re about and stand for. That was done by Mrs Agbai Aroh.

The women were taught by Mrs Gift Nkachi on how to handle fever for themselves and their children at home (quick remedies), before it gets worse. Questions were asked and answered.

Thereafter, the CEO Barr. Mrs Oyanbo Owei stepped in, briefly spoke with the women about our goals and courses, and encouraged them, using her experiences.

The event came to an end with the sharing of delivery kids to the pregnant women as well as Baby baths, diapers, treated malaria nets and cash.

Woman Up Series IV- Dance Fitness & Health Workout- 9th July, 2022

As an avenue to encourage healthy living, WOMAN UP SERIES 4 was put together by the She4She Initiative to show the place of constant exercising in maintaining a healthy life.

The program features various form of exercises through dance, wellness tips and health routine check which includes; blood pressure, sugar level and weight. Over 50 participants in attendance had their blood pressure weight and sugar level checked.

SHE4SHE INTERSCHOOL DEBATE YENAGOA BAYELSA STATE 24TH JUNE, 2022

24th June, 2022, SHE4SHE Initiative organized an interschool debate between selected secondary schools in Bayelsa state to speak on the following topics; “Rape is mostly caused by the girl child involved”. and “It is important for women to go into active politics”. The competition was intended to sensitized the Girl child on the need to speak up especially on issues concerning rape from their fathers or close relative or the society at large. The second topics was put forth to build a strong mindset of the girls towards participating in politics and leadership affairs. Present to witness the event was The Director Child, Ministry for Women and Children Affairs Bayelsa State, Yibowei Oyindoubra, She emphasized on the need of She4She Initiative to partner with the Ministry in carrying out sensitization outreaches to local communities. The event came to a close with a lot of prizes won by the participants.
